Last night in Kangaroo Land (Australia), the top prize was given out on the ABC show “The New Inventors” to a physicist looking for a way to curb brain injury or death to motorcycle and bicycle riders. Dr. Morgan designed the cone head to absorb a greater part of the impact in an accident and ultimately save lives.
“It’s in five segments, and the reason for that is to take into account the different strengths or thicknesses of the skull,” Mr Morgan said. “For example, softer foam needs to be around vital areas of the skull like the temple region, and the outer layer adds strength to the helmet liner itself.”
The idea came to him 20 years ago while he participated in a research project dealing with road safety.
We were able to find a video of his invention from the network’s website.
Every week we’ll be profiling an Incuby member’s invention in order to bring you a more in depth look into the product.

This week we’re excited to feature The Light Pick™, a product from Santa Cruz Light Wells, Inc. The Light Pick™ is an awesome guitar pick which uses the latest in technology and materials to create the very first metronome and pick, in one.
Wait, theres more……not only does it light up but it features a new technology, String Shot Technology (SST) to be exact, which allows the tip to absorb a large percentage of string shock while you play and provides an “ergonomic kick” that helps boost the guitar players arm for their next strike.
When I showed the The Light Pick™ to one of my friends who has been playing the guitar for years, his first question was “Is it comfortable to use?” I thought that was a great question, because one of the most important aspects of a product is if it’s usable. Well that’s one of the many things that makes The Light Pick™ so special, it not only looks great but at the same time it is contoured to the thumb and index finger so the guitar player can use it for as long as they like.
It also serves as a great tool for the practicing player!

Today marks our official release from private beta to public beta version 1. The responses have been overwhelming and I’d like to thank all the inventors that have already signed up!
This is just the beginning and we have lots of cool things brewing in the future for Incuby.
So spread the word and let everyone know
